PGY2 Resident Bios

I am a Southern California native. My grandparents immigrated to the US and, together with my parents, taught me the value of living a life of service. I went to college at La Sierra University for a B.S. in Neuroscience and spent time abroad as a medical missionary in Peru. I completed a master’s degree from UC Irvine, in Biotechnology Management, and worked in biotech in San Diego. I was fortunate to attend Loma Linda University for Medical School. I decided to specialize in Family Medicine given my desire to serve the whole spectrum of my community. My future goals include working for the underserved, being a community advocate, and increasing diversity in the field of medicine.

I grew up on the eastern side of Washington state. If you’re not familiar with Washington state, this is the dry side of the state where you can see tumbleweeds regularly. I grew up not knowing any health care providers besides those who I saw for healthcare. Originally, I believed I wanted to be a police officer until I was in the 6th grade and learned about the prognosis of a hip fracture in those over 50. This inspired me to learn about taking care of yourself mentally and physically. I have worked with close to 200 individuals on their weight loss journey before beginning residency and hope to inspire many individuals in the future.

I grew up in Monterey, CA, a biodiverse city by the sea! For undergrad, I moved to San Diego to study Biology as a first-generation student at SDSU. After SDSU, I worked for 2 years in a metabolic research lab at Touro University California. I transitioned from employee to medical student, learning the fine details of medicine and developing my skills in osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM). I feel grateful to now work alongside intelligent and empathetic individuals at LLUH-Murrieta! My clinical interests include women’s health, OMM, sports medicine, and full-spectrum medicine for patients of all ages. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach and hiking/camping with my family.

I was raised in California by immigrant parents, so at a young age, I started to build my life with the goal of extending a helping hand to others. I was fortunate enough to obtain emotional, cultural, and life-changing experiences from volunteering in places such as Kenya and Mexico during medical school, so I envision contributing to global health in my future while also playing an active role in my community’s health by building personal relationships with patients to help them reach their health goals. My clinical interests include women’s health, preventative medicine, and complementary medicine. Outside of medicine, I’m spending time with my dog Appa, traveling, and playing pickleball.

I found my passion for medicine in researching organic drug design at CSULA. Although research into therapeutics was exciting, I became more interested in the direct application of knowledge associated with the scope of the clinician. I attended Ross University School of Medicine to follow that interest. Medical school took me to the Caribbean island of Dominica, then Knoxville, TN, back home to Los Angeles, CA, and finally to residency at LLUMC- M! My passion is practicing Family Medicine, a specialty which allows me to welcome any patient at any stage in life. From a pregnant woman, to her children, and her grandparents. I am proud to care and advocate for my patients.

I was raised for most of my life in Northern California. I attended undergraduate college at UCSD and soon after began medical school at LECOM. Having played sports throughout my life, I was exposed to sports medicine at an early age and developed a passion for working towards the betterment of patients. My favorite aspect of medicine is the opportunity to meet patients and coworkers from vastly different walks of life and work together to improve healthcare for them. Working for Loma Linda, I hope to further healthcare within the community while pursuing my passion in sports medicine. In my spare time, I enjoy staying active playing basketball, volleyball, surfing, and hiking.

Practicing medicine has always been a lifelong passion.  While matriculating in medical school, I realized the importance of having a good family doctor who was essentially the patient’s first and greatest advocate. I decided that I wanted to become a physician for underserved communities to improve health outcomes through patient education, counseling, and supporting spiritual well-being. When I’m not in the hospital or studying, I enjoy traveling, watching movies, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my family.

I was born and raised in San Diego, CA where I was fortunate to attend the University of San Diego for my undergraduate education. I graduated with a B.A. in Behavioral Neuroscience and Philosophy before completing a post-baccalaureate program at the UCSD. I enjoyed my time in New Mexico for medical school, but I could not be happier to get to continue my medical training close to home at LLUMC – M. Murrieta and the surrounding areas offer an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations which is one of the many reasons I am grateful to be here. I enjoy spending time with my family. We are big baseball and basketball fans and love attending games together.

I was raised in Houston, Texas to immigrant parents. I grew up surrounded by people from all over and love diversity. I attended the University of Houston and then University of Oklahoma for medical school. I love being in family medicine because I get to talk to others as a fellow human being and figure out how I can help them with whatever's going on. My interests are fairly broad as I very much like being equipped to handle whatever comes my way, though I do have a particular taste for emergency care. I love spending time with my lovely fiancée, gaming, reading, travel, hiking.

Originally from Alaska, I am a graduate of Loma Linda University, where I got my MD from the School of Medicine and a MA in bioethics from the school of religion. I strive to provide care that encompasses the whole person by empowering patients to develop long-term habits that turn into lifestyles that prevent illnesses. Outside of the hospital, my interests include playing jazz trombone, reading, and running. My favorite way to distress is by jumping on my trampoline.

I was born and raised in Denver, CO where I studied Neuroscience at Colorado College before moving to Yakima, WA to attend Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences for medical school. I am excited to be in Southern California to continue my training in Family Medicine and work with a diverse group of patients. I value long-term relationships with patients and look forward to providing full-spectrum care for family members of different generations. I strive to be a caring and compassionate provider that patients can trust and turn to for their health care needs. Outside of medicine, I continue being a Denver Nuggets fan and enjoy playing volleyball, reading, and drinking coffee.
