Howdy! I am proud to be part of the inaugural class for the internal medicine program at LLUMC-M. Born and raised in Plano, TX, I attended The University of Texas at Dallas, where I double majored in Biology and Healthcare Management. During my time there, I discovered my passion for healthcare and later attended Ross University School of Medicine. While completing my clinical training in South Chicago, I witnessed how structural forces perpetuate health inequality. Working at Loma Linda, I aim to advance community efforts and hope to improve the lives of individuals who I now call neighbors. Outside the hospital, my passions include film photography, hiking, and painting.

I was born and raised in Taiwan in a Buddhist family. I immigrated to the US when I was 15 and have lived in California ever since. I went to UCLA as an undergrad and attended Western University for medical school. As an immigrant, I aim to provide patient-centered care that respects diverse cultural practices and beliefs. Alongside my training in Western medicine, I am keenly interested in oriental medicine. I am enthusiastic about leveraging my unique perspective to deliver comprehensive and holistic care for my patients. When I’m off work, I enjoy both indoor (movies/piano/cooking) and outdoor activities (rock climbing/biking/snowboarding).

I am also a large advocate of provider and patient mental health as well as community engagement in healthcare.

Hobbies: In my free time I enjoy discovering new eateries and bakeries, reading fiction and mystery novels, and playing with my pet parakeets. I also appreciate any and all birds, figure skating, and houseplants.

Growing up in Hong Kong, a busy international city, gives me the opportunity to experience cultural diversity and the passion to pursue a career in the greatest multicultural society. I look forward to caring for the wide range of patient populations in the Inland Empire of SoCal. I am committed to building relationships and providing holistic and individualized care for my patients. Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing soccer, woodworking, traveling with my wife, and training our two poodles.

Born and raised in the South, I moved to attend Andrews University, graduating with a B.S. in Biology. I then attended Loma Linda University for medical school. As a child of South Korean immigrants, I witnessed my parents unable to receive adequate healthcare due to socioeconomic barriers. This inspired me to pursue medicine in order to address these barriers for not just my family but for my future patients as well. I continually strive to see my patients as more than just diagnoses thereby bridging the gap between these barriers and medicine and delivering the care they deserve.

I grew up in the Sonoran desert of Phoenix, Arizona. After obtaining my degree in biomedical sciences, I attended medical school at A.T. Still University. It is the centrality of care that drew me to the field of internal medicine where we exercise our knowledge, skill, and powers of deduction. I hope to serve my community as an internist and work to improve healthcare delivery systems. In my free time, I enjoy reading mystery novels, strength training, traveling, and watching basketball games.
